Meet our Coaching Team
SHANNON LESTER – OWNER / OFFICE MANAGER
I participated in dance, gymnastics, netball, running and swimming from a young age, but it wasn't until I found cheerleading at 19 that I found my passion in life.
I believe that cheerleading is the perfect sport for young girls as it upholds the importance of women being strong and athletic, while incorporating elements which are feminine - music, dance, performance and presentation. I believe this is a winning combination which keeps athletes engaged, challenged, excited and committed.
I am honoured to have the opportunity to instil good qualities and values in our athletes that will hopefully last a lifetime.
EMMA BART – OWNER/ HEAD COACH
I feel that the saying "It's not just a sport, it's a way of life" perfectly encompasses my relationship with cheer. I fell in love with cheer eight years ago after fifteen years of dance. Throughout my tertiary studies in engineering and my work as a professional, my cheerleading friends and the sport of cheer have always been there; providing me with lots of fun, good memories, a sense of belonging and many opportunities to develop my teamwork and leadership skills. No other activity has captured my imagination the way cheer has and every day it is part of me. It is my goal for every QCE student to have as positive an experience from cheer as I have had.
COURTNEY CUMMINGS - HEAD TUMBLING COACH
I grew up as a gymnast in New Zealand, competing competitively as well as coaching. After travelling to the USA for 12 months to work at Disney, I settled in Australia and am now pursuing my passion for tumbling coaching at QCE. I believe that each child has potential to improve with positive reinforcement, drills and strength training. As a coach, I love watching athletes set goals and when they reach that goal the look on their face is priceless - all the hard work and dedication has proved to be worth it.
LUCY JACOBS - RECEPTIONIST AND ADMIN MANAGER
Lucy is the smiling face that greets you at the reception at our Kedron and Sumner gyms. Having been an athlete for many years, she transitioned into the admin side of cheer in 2013 and we have been so lucky to have her on board ever since! She is happy to help with any enquiries you may have about classes, fees, uniforms and more. She is the first point of call for parents and athletes alike and is always willing to go above and beyond to help out!
It’s a team effort to make QCE the club it is. We have an incrediable group of passionate, experienced and talented staff at QCE who coach our tumble, cheer and flight school classes.
